The Mahalo blog covers the first few weeks of Mahalo Answers. Read the post and comment. Feedback wanted?

I think there are too many questions and not enough good answers. When you don't discourage the asking of frivolous questions, not only is it hard to provide a good answer to that question itself, but it dilutes the effort of people who would provide good answers to other questions. It also makes good questions harder to find.As far as community and growth goes, I'd say you're probably on the side of growing a little too fast.

There's probably a balance you can find between the sheer number of members and the quality and expertise of members, and it seems like it's just all about the numbers right now. It's fairly easy to distinguish people who actually have experience in the subject from people who are just blathering to get points, but during rapid growth, you would also expect expertise to be outnumbered by the blatherers and people trying to game the system. This will turn off many of those with real experience, and damage the community in the long run.

I'm famous FTW! :) I was a bit disappointed at first, when people started making M$100 out of silly questions like strippers or so, but I saw that they were lucky only that first time. While I was a yellow belt, I would spend hours to figure out how M.A.Works.

I know all the pros and cons of the system. I know that the biggest con is the "Undecided Questions" system, as I've stated my opinion here: http://www.mahalo.com/answers/mahalo-answers-community/do-you-think-mahalo-should-award-5-or-more-points-for-voting-on-undecided-questions#ac875d734936951dbf67af49caf5072852f01f0887ae7b4104f3e246c130f78fe.I know all the little bugs, for example that if you edit a comment twice, it will not remember the last modification, but only the first one. Or that if you go to the profile page and click on an avatar, it will go to that member's profile, but if you click on an avatar on the "top members of all time" page, nothing will happen.

I know that if you post a very complex answer, with links, youtube embeds and lots of text, the system will choke, returning a 502 error. But most of all, I know and I enjoy the fact that the Mahalo team is very responsive at everything that I've proposed so far. As it is now, there are too few questions and there's a bunch of expert researchers answering them, so the focus should be on bringing people to M.A.Rather than concentrating on quality control.

I don't really know how strong is the community yet, we are still in the rush of trying something very new and extraordinary, but I know that if we see some amazing improvements as the time goes by, that feeling will be kept.

I have really enjoyed this place, I think it's the best answer system in the world without any question. My fellow members are very intelligent and it's always nice to be in good company. I don't think to to many changes are needed.(other than a few small quirks here and there like some have mentioned above) So far all of the mechanics of the site are welcomed ones, and well working as well.So far so good!

Yaaa too many questions not best answers but all people are attracted here in order to clear their doubts. Some receives best answers some answers does not so that they get back their money its a good way of satisfying the people needs and wants here easily.

I think the community is growing at a decent, manageable rate. One way to continue the growth would be to continue providing answers to as many questions as possible. I can see Mahalo Answers already has a strong base for a community members who will answer as many questions as possible, these guys are great.

The other type of member I am noticing is the new users who reach Answers from the a serp and ask a random question. These users are unfamiliar with Answers and simply see the question box and plug in randomness, These users are important too, with every answer given, there is a great chance that a new user will return and ask another. So I think during these early stages we got to remember to try and make sure every question gets at least 1 good answer.

Early I've noticed people have been putting a lot of attention towards the leaderboard, everybody loves the stats and points. As do I, in fact I think it would be great to see the "Top Members" for each category, as Mahalo grows, there is a natural need for more leaderboards. Another technical achievement would be more sorting capabilities right from the front page.

Right now the only sorting option is "Popular" (most views), Perhaps sorting by "Tip Amount" and "most answers" and "Least Answers" etc. Sorting is fun, or is that just me? Great site so far /I am an employee.

I have enjoyed my experience on this site. I have found some of the questions to be very interesting and some of them less so. I suspect that it will take time to grow this site because of the wide range of interests.

The more specific the question, the less answers it tends to get, although I notice that even questions with only one or two answers can have a lot of views. One possible way to generate more interest would be to give a couple of Mahalo dollars to new viewers. That way they could immediately ask a question with a tip reward.

I think there should be improvements on this site! I do not like the way certain things work sometimes slowly, but I do not believe you can fix them. Although, the general theme is good, and is an improvement on other sites.

You do not have enough questions at times of the day.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
