Any computer with a TV tuner (could be a card as would be the likely case for a desktop style computer, or a small USB component more suitable for laptops) can function as a Digital Video Recorder. You can also obtain devices that function only as a DVR (whereas your computer can perform other things than just be a DVR).

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
