UK SCs - how FAIR was my most recent Yahboo ' violation notice'?

I like your term "Yahboo. " It describes this site pretty well There is no fairness here. Postings are deleted by machine if two or more hysterical clucks believe that you have said or suggested something immoral.

And the two kinds of "immorality" that always cause the clucks to start squawking are anything involving children in sexual situations, and anything that suggests you have some kind of antipathy for people of color or homosexuals. (Your question suggested that Muslims are taking over Dear Old Blighty. ) However, there's one regular in the Seniors section who always goes out of his way to mention his belief that "The Jews" are the cause of all the evil in the world, and nobody ever deletes his posts. So there's another instance of how arbitrary and inconsistent these kinds of "violations" are.

If this was a UK question posted in the US Senior Citizens category the question may have been misunderstood. I didn't see it and none of your profile information is available. Yahoo does seem to favor those doing the complaining and rarely reverses it's decision. As for "trollic objectors".

I'm usually told it's the decision of the "community". All it takes is one or more.

I was somewhat puzzled by this, Nem. I wrote a reasonable reply. When I came on line this morning to read my E-mails, it said I had been awarded Best Answer then when I came into SC it told me that the question had been deleted.

How do I get best answer to a question that is Verboten? My answer was in agreement, saying that school registers show a marked change from the age old names of British Yesteryear, and that British politicians have gone out of their way, to show us that we are not allowed any say on the issue. I always try to avoid racism, but it would appear that we are not even allowed to criticise current trends in UK demography at all!

I heartily concur with you.

A human could boil their brain and pull all their hair out trying to understand the working of the Yahoo Deletion Machine. It seems designed to favour the crass and ignorant questions over those that give pause to think. Best ignored and allowed to play on its own.

Arguing seems to get me nowhere with it!

If two or more mark your q as a violation, the computer automatically deletes it and sends you a notice. No actual person reads it at first and probably never will. This site is full of crybabies so you have to expect it every so often.

I have never understood the violation notice stuff. I rather think we are dealing with a machine. When your write a literate note with the reasons why a violation is not appropriate you do not get much of an answer, just a canned note.

I never answered this question of yours , but sounds totally unfairer to have it deleted , iv had this done to me ,for no good reason , just keep appealing nem.

Not fair, Nem. A machine deleted a fair question. All you did was point out the demographic changes in population is all.

Use this as a mantra when dealing with Yahboo, '***** 'em if they can't take a joke..!

Oh what a bummer! I answered that question. Appeal and I hope it comes back.

You got tons of great answers on that one too. Yahboo---I like that word.?

But I'm a US SC who answered your question!

Yes! , It was a fair question!. What was wrong with it?

, you just stated a fact!....

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
