Wow. Guess I'll have to choose which to go to then. Just kidding.

I'm going to go to the wedding too but I'm not taking another gift. My friend took a poll in her office and most all agreed that they would only give one gift. Can't really spend a fortune on someone else's wedding these days.

When my children get married I will give them many gifts. Beyond that, not doing it. GeorgiaGenie 7 months ago .

Your friend is right. Shower can be a gift for the bride, wedding money for the couple.

When I got married, the best gift I got was my wife.(all together, now: "Awww")I most certainly did not keep score of who gave gifts and who did not; and whether there were gifts for both the wedding and the bridal shower. On the other hand, nothing says "congratulations" like 30 different people giving you dish towels that don't match your decor. (and yes, I actually HAVE used both crock pots at once)I say get them a li'l something - and get it for someplace other than the kitchen and bathroom (where 90% of all wedding gifts are aimed at) get something that HE will have a lot of use for.

I bought a VERY nice gift for the shower. Perhaps I could purchase two less expensive gifts so I can eat the weddinig meal guilt-free? This reception will have heavy h'or doerves only.

Does that mean I could go guilt-free without taking another gift? It would upset me to know that someone didn't come to my wedding because I had to pay for their meal. I wanted people there to celebrate with me, regardless of any gifts.

Any money I spent on the food was "cost-of-a-wedding" not "meal-exchange-for a-gift. " GeorgiaGenie 7 months ago .

Your friend. Shower gifts are supposed to be something personal for the bride. Wedding gifts are for the couple.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
