I've heard that lamb and pig ears are much better for a dog. Asked by 0000 56 months ago Similar questions: raw hide bones chews dogs Pets.

Rawhide is what it sounds like. Rawhide is what it sounds like, namely dried unprocessed cow skin. It hasn't been tanned or anything else.It is just the hide of a cow, molded and pressed into shape, then let dry.
Supposedly some dogs have stomach problems when eating rawhide. It doesn't take much chewing before it breaks into little pieces, which end up in Rover's stomach. Pig ears are supposed to be tougher, so less of them gets eaten.
Cow hooves are supposed to be tougher still. Nylon bones are possibly the best, because even if bits of them get eaten, they pass right through without getting digested..
I won't give my dogs any of them! Rawhide is untanned animal hide, with all fur and meat removed. If you choose to give your dog rawhide, always closely supervise their chewing as they can choke on big pieces, and if swallowed, can cause a blockage.
Also, only give them rawhide from US sources, processed in the US. It is common practice in other countries to use arsenic as part of the process of making rawhide. Not something you want your dog to ingest!
Pigs ears can be a source of salmonella and cause intestinal upset, and if imported (as most are) are often preserved with toxic chemicals. I've seen too many dogs with rectal bleeding from pigs ears to ever feed them to my dogs. Although they are getting increasingly harder and harder to find, I will give my dogs fresh knuckle bones and marrow bones to satisfy their urge to chew and help clean their teeth.
I also brush their teeth a couple of times a week.
It is cow hide dried into shapes. This can clog up the intestines but great for cleaning dogs teeth. Stores sell alot of these.
I also sometimes give them to my dogs, but not too often. I would ask your vet what they think. Sources: personal experience .
Whatever they can get Some companies will tell you what it is, but otherwise it's just some random leather from whatever they could get. The truth this, this is invariably cow hide, from the scraps that leather product makers don't want (along the legs, the ears, etc. ) That's because we eat a LOT of beef, beef hides are bigger than any other animal that we eat in that quantity, and they have almost no other commercial value so why not make dog chews? Frankly, I tend to be skeptical that any of these could be better for a dog than any other.
Dogs are classic omnivores, and can and will eat everything from leather boots to rocks to their own feces (just to clean up, believe it or not - mother dogs will, well, you get the idea). There's almost no nutritional value in a dried-out piece of leather no matter what it came from, so other than being some roughage to help clean out the internals, I think you'd be hard-pressed to PROVE that one type is better than another. I tell you what, though.
My dog greatly prefers the cowhide strips soaked in chicken-surprise than the natural pig/lamb ears. What other pet can you get that you would actually PAY MONEY for to get scraps nobody else wanted and it's considered a treat? =) .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
