If the sun went supernova (which, as others state, it is not large enough to do so), the explosion would completely destroy the solar system, and nothing would be left for any black hole that might form to "suck in". The most likely outcome for our sun is that it will expand about 200 times it's size into a red giant. Even though it is bigger, it does not create any new mass, so still will not have to become a supernova.
Instead of a massive explosion, it will be more of a small "poof" (small in cosmic scale), creating a planetary nebula. What remains of the sun will be a white dwarf for trillions of years, eventually fading to become a black dwarf. (Black dwarfs are theoretical since the universe has not been around long enough for the time it takes for a star to become a black dwarf, therefore, none currently exist.).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
