Art is art and maths is maths....... I don't think these should be compared..... If maths is necessary then creativity too is necessary... A child cannot just stick with his book 24X7.... he needs a break..... Drawing and paintings can help him that time..... And if anybody can make his career in maths then definitely he can make a career in art as well..there are a lot of creative people out there earning very well... And I believe people should do or should set his career in the field in which he is interested whether it be maths or art. You can't force any child to be a mathematician and the same thing goes for arts. They'll do what they like to do and they should do that.
Both art and maths are required in daily life. So, I think both are equally important at their place.
I don't think emphasis should be placed on one over the other. If the child prefers art then by all means. Artistic children do very well in other areas as well.
Children who do well in math tend to have a logical way of thinking. They become better at problem solving. Both art and math are very important in their own right as they both help with the mental and psychological development of the child.
Let the child choose or not choose at all.
It depends with the individual. Some people are created to be artists. There is no point in punishing them to study algebra.
Others were created to be scientific...they should be "punished" with algebra by all means :-) I think the parent should know and understand his/her kids to know which line the kid should follow..its easy, just watch how they play with their toys and which toys they like. If you have a girl that insists on playing with boys toys, you have an engineer. Painting will not be good for her.
There are many other ways of knowing such things that a psychologist can help a parent with.
Both are important for the child ... they will enjoy the painting much more but math is equally important and they should both be taught for equal lengths of time.
That is difficult to answer. You should let the child decide. However, I do encourage expression through means such as art or music.
Studies have shown that children, more specifically toddlers and babies, that have been expose to classical music actually develop great mathematics and physics skills and are said to have increased intelligence. Both go hand in hand. Expose the child to both.
Not just one or the other.
I believe both are equally important. You need math so that you can exist in the world today. You need to know the time things happen, the cost of things and how to balance a bank account.
You need to know how to measure to cook and build things. Art is also necessary for our well being. In today's world it is very important.
Most people read books with illustrations, ads in the newspaper, websites on the internet. All of which need different forms of art.
To get a good job today it is more important for children to study mathematics and foreign languages than art and music. To what extend do you agree or disagree with this opinion? There is no doubt that some subjects that are studied at school are felt to be a waste of time when it comes to getting a good job.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
