Went on that liquid protein diet that was the craze in the late 70's. Lost 11 pounds the came back so fast I got whiplash.
Along with what a few people have said here, diet pills is definitely my answer! They're really bad for you because they can increase your heart rate to an abnormal level. Sometimes I would have coffee with a diet pill--DUMB mistake!
You feel like your heart is beating out of your chest. Not to mention the fact that the diet pills did not really even seem to work!
My dumbest weight loss mistake was also diet pills. I took them for two days and they absolutely did kill my appetite. I think that if I had been able to continue taking them that I would have lost weight, but I had to stop because they set off panic attacks.
The bottle had said that you shouldn't take them if you were prone to panic attacks, but I hadn't had one in years and thought it would be okay. Surprise, it wasn't. This was about ten years ago and the panic attacks have never gone away.
When I was 17 I finally got sick and tired of the "baby fat" I was carrying around. I was going to school, working two part time jobs and eating a lot of junk food. Time for a change. So I picked two of my favorite things and indulged in only them.
Potato salad and Pepsi. One medium scoop of potato salad every day washed down with one Pepsi. The rest of the day I drank water and ate nothing.
I walked a lot when I wasn't at school or work, and I lost the baby fat in about 2 months. I also got sick and tired of potato salad and Pepsi. I lost about 25 pounds, I was happy about that.
But it was a stupid thing to do. Friends were actually encouraging me to eat something-anything. But I stuck it out, it worked, but I would never do it again.
Well, I guess the craziest thing that I did in the name of abs is to take herbal slimming tea. These kinds of tea have unlikely taste that you tend to be an anorexic once you have tasted it. Its effects?
Well, you'll definitely be chummy with your toilet bowl after. Man, it was the worst thing that i've ever tried in my life. I would rather recommend those effing slimming tea if you're constipated!
LOLBTW, I have a hub about weight loss. You might want to check it out. hubpages.com/hub/12-Rules-To-Loserville-Rul.
...I didn't eat pizza for a good 4 months after that day!
I wish I had been in my teens for this story, but I was in my forty's, I decided to take Dexatrims and fast all day, by the time I got home and early evening had arrived I felt suicidal. My heart was beating and I wanted to jump out of my skin. I finally gave in to food and ate everything I could find.
Never again did I ever use Dexatrims again.
HA HA HA HA HA, your question couldn't have come in a better time. I am doing the stupidest and craziest method to lose weight NOW! What is it you ask?
ICE BATHS! That's right, I sit with 2/3rds of my body submerged in ice water for about ten minutes three times a week. It is supposed to increase your brown fat levels which burns your other "unwanted" fat.
I'll write an article about it with my results in about a month, I just started last week. I read about it in "the 4 hour body" by Tim Ferris. Google or youtube 'Ice baths tim ferris' to learn more.
Not myself, but a high school pal of mine went on the "ice-cream" diet. All she ate once a day was a pint of ice cream and water/black coffee. NOW don't get me wrong, I adore ice-cream, but that's just unhealthy (not to mention BORING)!
I asked her if she missed chewing food, and she didn't miss it. She DID in fact take off weight, but just as soon as her senses returned to normal, piled it back on PLUS some!Janet.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
