Im not gonna say it is NOT gonna happen But the likelihood of it happening are so slim, its not worth worrying about. 2. Why?
AF reservist and National Guardsmen are considered prior service, just like former active duty AF, and reservist and active duty from other services. 3. In 2012 the Air Force authorized just 250 prior service enlistment slots and just 109 of those 250 slots, were authorized for retraining into specific AFSC's Combat Control was authorized ( 3 ) three prior service slots, Pararescue was authorized ( 3 ) three prior service slots Thiose 6 total slots, are why I didn't say it cannot happen 4.
BUT, you are also competeting against prior service army, navy and marines for those 6 slots They have a point matrix for prior service applying for those jobs, that you must have 25 points You get points for various AFSC's,MOSs, schools and decorations awarded IE: a former CCT or Pararescue would get 20 points, former seals, marine recon, army SF get 15 points, AF security forces 10 points, all others, 5 points Schools like combat diver, airborne, freefall, ranger give 5 to 10 points Awards like bronze star with V, silver star, service cross, give from 10 to 20 points 5. Thats why I said the likihood is so slim for a AF Guardsmen, as to make it not worthwile to worry about it.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
