Picking a branch of military is tough..but here's what helped me join the army.. Air force is the newest military branch, and get picked on because everyone calls them the "chair force" and because you never hear of people in the air force get killed. And only 4% of airmen are actually pilots Coast guard are similar to the navy, but don't see combat very much..if any. They are basically life guards getting paid.
Marines and the Navy are similar..they both work together, if you ever noticed that marines are also on navy ships..and there are no marine medics in hospitals..only navy medics..and navy is deployed on a ship, for 9 months..and underwater if your on a submarine..and marines are tough..but a lot of people don't like them because they think they are mean, trained killers..."lean, green, fighting machine" So army..is what I chose. They are the first branch in the military..hense flag day june, 14th. They are set with over 150 different career fields..avation mechanics..vehicle mechanics..underwater welder..pilot..infantry..military police..medics..computers..air traffic control... I chose army, because I want to be, all I can be..not one of the few and the proud.
Also you can get promoted before even going to basic training.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
