GW has it wrong. I'm only correcting him so you don't repeat the story and sound misinformed. The "Long Colt" name doesn't come from the advent of the .45 ACP.
The name 45 Long Colt comes from the fact that it was longer than the .45 Schofield which is shorter. "Colt 45" can mean anything made by Colt chambered in .45 caliber.
Both are. A Colt Single Action Army, if chambered for .45 Colt (not "Long Colt," as there is no cartridge officially named .45 Long Colt), is a "Colt 45." A Colt 1911, if chambered for .45 Automatic Colt Pistol, is also a "Colt 45."
Then again, there's also a malt liquor called "Colt 45.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
