When you realize that you got an Okay rating on an answer?

Yes, I do Usually, in cases like that, the answer that won the best ribbon I agree is the best answer. Usually it's the answer I voted "Great" on! Here's an example, where the best answer provided me with information I didn't know about...I'm glad this person "beat" me in the ratings!

They had better info to provide than I did. askville.amazon.com/askville/ClosedQuest... I do always go back and try to see what makes answers better (or more popular). I've always been a writer, and have been doing some freelance writing recently (for free...hope to get some paying publications some day!) So I look at this as a chance to improve my writing skills.

I can see which answers were effective in conveying information, and which were too rambling, or too terse, or too hard-to-understand. On a related topic, I kind of wish all the ratings were public. Yes, I think it would definitely result in bad feelings so I don't think it would ever be a good idea to actually implement.

But I'd love to get specific feedback about the strong and weak points of my answer. That's why I like to get superpower votes on my answers. So, in answer to your question, not only do I go back and reread my "okay" answers, I go back and reread all questions/answers once the voting has closed to try to see if others agreed with how I voted. I'm always surprised when someone I voted Great ends up with a good, or if someone I voted okay ends up with the best answer ribbon, and I like to reevaluate the answer to try to see if I voted "wrong" (i.e.

, over or under estimated the usefulness of an answer)..

This may sound dumb but... I don't know how to see what rating my answer got. How do you see that? If you couldn't tell, I'm fairly new at this.

:) .

Yes, But sometimes I have found to answer less attractive names to get a great answer. I am saying I no longer go for some people's questions... they choose their friends over you! THEN, they congradulate them in the discussion box below.... How disturbing!

I am here for voting, answering, and being fair! I am not here for the RATING. I like alot of people here and I am addicted!

I vote great for the best answers. Sometimes, they are all great! So, they get a great!

I have never voted weak! I probably never will. I have had some weak answers given to my questions, I grin and bear it!

Happy Spring and thanks for the excellent question. Sources: My True Nutty Opinion.

1 Just in case you don't know how to find out what your answer was rated...Go to your "My Account" page and choose the "My in the drop down menu, you will see "My Answers Completed", there you will see the status of the answers. For the answers that are Closed, you can see how they were rated. By clicking on the link to the question, you will be able to see how each answer was rated. In addtion if you look at the Discussion Board of the question, you will be able to see if anyone used a superpower to rate the question and how your answer did.

Hope this helps...

Another voting dilemma...what would you do if you were rating an answer and there was something in it that couldn't be.

When you answer a question how do you find your rating of answer.

Is it possible to appeal an answer rating...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
