Depends on your dog If your dog is healthy he will be fine with either but lamb and rice is easier on the dog’s digestive system. I feed mine lamb and rice Pedigree because one of my dogs is a Boxer and they are known for having gas problems (and boy do they). He does much better on the digestive diet.

If beef is bad for people, maybe it's bad for dogs. Well, I am careful about how much beef I eat. I haven't sworn off of it, but I eat it only in moderation, say once every month or two.So I transfer that belief to my dogs as well.

I would definitely prefer the daily meal to be lamb or chicken or duck. I choose not to feed beef treats, but it wouldn't upset me if a friend gave my dog a beef jerky once in a while. Everything in moderation.
