Personally, I think it is inappropriate and an insult to our Nation. I don't care what other people think or how they have to go with the "politically correct" way of doing things. Many of our citizens were murdered by a bunch of terrorists who learned their violence and hatred for Americans from their leaders in mosques.
You can condemn me for having these thoughts but it is the way I feel. There are many places that could house a mosque which aren't in the shadow of a major hateful event which should always be remembered. Let them find another location.
9-11 will always be in our minds and thoughts and a mosque should not be in that area for this reason.
Consider the question of why there was no mention of the connection between agriculture and democracy in The Middle East onward and that of an environmentalist party beyond The 9th Century. Your question is similar to Bill Maher The Comedian in thefilm Religulous deliberate humourous misspelling. He wants to know why Religion has such a powerfull Effect be it Christian or Muslim.
Now as to how I feel about this is I am curious what the response of the people in The Mosque would be if you ask them what Mohammed had to say about the possibility of agriculture linked to democratic ideas from the 1st Century B.C. to now. In addition how they feel about Thomas Paine's Rights of Man and the contrast of these with The Iranian and French ,and Russian Revolutions. Also I want to know their views on the idea ofr 1492 being actually the first world war since Eurpeans began to fight the rest of the world then.
I mean North American First Nations, Africans, Carribean, and Australia, and Asia.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
