Me! And yes. Well I think they are anyway.
They've been pretty thoroughly abused by older gentlemen with an impaired sense of style, though in the right hands I think they can really work well. I only ever wear them as part of a formal suit and tie combination. I have white suspenders/braces, on a white shirt, with a high quality white silk tie, complimented by a deep navy blue tailored suit with faint pinstripes on it.
Works for me ;-).
Oh, man I really hope not. That's one trend I'd like to see in the "passe" category permanently. I do think they look nice with a formal suit, but that should be the only occasion... I picture very frumpy women wearing them. It's just a bad association for me, I suppose.
If you are talking the mens sock type ..then I sfor one sincerely hope NOT!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
