Why are Christians so hypocritical when it comes to Islam being a violent religion. Look at what they've done?

Christianity is not just one religion, there are thousands of sects the people who participated in the crusades and such were not acting according to christianity neither christianity nor Islam is evil, but some who claim to be of those religions do evil things.

Christians did not kill any one the catholic church did that, they are not christian you have no ideal what christianity is or what you are talking about.

You're stereotyping all Christians. We don't all conform to your narrow viewpoint of who we are, and certainly not all of us condemn entire groups of people for the misguided actions of the few. I think this is where you might be hypocritical yourself.

I absolutely agree but maybe it's not the religions but the people doing this madness in the name of God. Christians are to be like Christ basically if they can't even resemble him in any way they aren't Christians and Muslims are to do the same I'm sure Allah doesn't want innocent people being killed for the sake of spreading a religion if so then maybe they need to change their Gods personalities.

If you look at what both religions actually teach, you find that Christians aren't quite as hypocritical as you might think. If we follow Jesus' example, as Christians are called to do, we would be peaceful and love others. Even Muslims aren't as evil as you think.It's the Muslim Extremists that murder people.

Most Muslims you meet are actually quite peaceful. So the problem with this question is that it has no basis. The assumptions of both religions are wrong.

When following the Bible, Christians are peaceful. The reason why they were so violent/ruthless in the past is because they wanted power, just like politicians these days. The church was in charge back then, and we all know that power corrupts.

They wanted to stay in power, and they wanted to have control over everyone. So they told people what they wanted them to know and they sold them pieces of paper that would "save them." So when people like Martin Luther came along and started to point things out and change things, they freaked out and wanted them dead.

When people started doing their own thing (Spanish Inquisition), they started burning people at the stake. When other branches of Christianity began using statues instead of the Scriptures because the followers couldn't read, they marched in, crushed the statues, and killed everyone. And it was all because they didn't want to lose power.

Another thing you have failed to realize is that most of the things you mentioned involve the Catholic Church, not Christians. There really is quite a difference between the two.

They're killing in the name though and that's different apparently. Ridding the world of "towel heads" is still a holy mission.....to some. You note that when they speak of Islam they always mean Arabs.

When they speak of Arabs, they always think "Muslims"...despite the fact that neither of these is a true picture of the demographics involved.

Don't label {all} Christians for what the Roman Catholic Popes did. The inquisition, the Crusades, the dark Ages a time of burning anyone who didn't agree with the Roman Catholic church.

The bible clearly tells Christians... "You shall not murder. " Exodus 20:13 So any person committing such crimes in the name of Christianity would be considered a hypocrite and not really a Christian. After all, I can say I play in the NFL and that doesn't make it so!

Jesus taught nothing but love. A prime example of this is John 13... "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

" John 13:34-35.

First the crusades- The Muslims took land from the Christians of the Eastern Roman Empire in the first place and were threatening Constantinople- which as you may know is Istanbul today. So no Islamic Jihad would have meant no crusades. So to condemn the crusades because they were a counter offensive into Muslim held lands is to condemn defensive warfare to condemn them because they promised salvation for those who died- just like the Jihads did is a different matter.

The Greek writer Anna comenus was shocked when she saw the sight of armed western priests and monks. Now the inquisition and other witch hunts these were the acts of theocracies which is the reason I am against theocracies. I do condemn the idea of denying people rights for religious or other reasons- I think it is wrong for Christians to do this- I also think it is wrong for atheists and any one else.

Speaking as a Christian- I can state acts of evil are proof man is fallen and needs the Lord's mercy s we don't give it to each other. Can we focus on the crimes of the modern era?

That was the past. What about catholics? They killed many chrtistains for not believing in their faith.

Catholics killed many prodestants, because they left the catholic faith behind. The church ordered all prodestant to be killed, They killed over a 1000 in one day. And it went on for 6months.

So who are you to condem the christans faith? The muslim faith is simple either you believe or die. Christans don't do that now days.

Look at the muslim faith. They still do it in our time. If you speak against their belief they will kill you.

Do the christans of today, kill people for not believing in their faith? Let me put this question to you. Didn't yo uhear about themuslim father who likkedhis 2 daqughters, because they were to westernised?

Or what about the husband who killed his wife. Because she stood up to him. Did you take that into consideration?

That is what the muslim faith is doing even in our time now days. They still behead people. For committing adultry.

Do the catholics or christains do those things. If you was to say to a muslim. That their religion sucks, they would most likely kill you on the spot.

They stil kill their own children for going against the muslim faith. Do christains kill their own children just because they don't believe? And you say christans are hypocrits.

For the sake of argument, let's assume everything you've written is true. That was 500 years ago. When is Islam going to join us here in the 21st century?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
