Why did some recipients meeting invites appear in Outlook as an email only and without an option to Accept the invite?

They're probably using a Gmail account on Outlook. Google has recently changed the default setting for invites to be automatically added to your calendar instead of giving you the option to accept the invite. If you turn off the setting then the invites should show up in Gmail again.

€¢ From Gmail, click the Calendar link in the upper left corner. This will pop up another window with the Google calendar. €¢ Click Settings in the calendar window.

€¢ Set the "Automatically add invitations to my calendar:" setting to "No, only show invitations to which I have responded". More.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
