Why do you think I am not receiving digital reception of most channels with my new digital converter box?

I live in McMinnville Oregon and I have a roof top antenna pointing towards Portland Oregon (34 degrees, 35 miles away). My analog reception is fine but the only digital reception I get through my converter box is a PBS TV station due south (180 degrees, 60 miles away) and my antenna is not even pointing that direction. Most of the Portland stations are broadcasting digital on UHF frequencies.

Digital switch isn't until Feb 11th...in Oregon The switch isn't happening until February 11th (at least that's the date in Corvallis). When I was at the Comcast service station in Corvallis last week they explained that the lower channels (2-31) will be unaffected by the change and channels 32-71 will be reassigned to new 3 digit channels which is why the cable companies are giving out free converter boxes that handle the new numbering system. I would assume you aren't receiving digital reception because they are sending digital signals yet..

This is a easy answer. They are not sending any Digital Broadcast over the air till Feb.. 17, and Congress is now pushing to push that back to another date. If you had Cable or satellite you would now be receiving them.

The procrastinators that had the last three years to change didn't and Obama is feeling sorry for them, so it might again be pushed back.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
