Can anyone tell the difference between Coke/Pepsi vs. supermarket branded private-label cola soft drinks?

I just started buying the supermarket branded cola soft drinks and they taste the same as Coke/Pepsi - although not sure which one ;o). Does anyone else think that the taste is the same? I thought the recipe for coke and pepsi is a well guarded secret, so how can the supermarket brands taste so similar?

I can (just) and my husband can easily I can tell Coke from Pepsi and supermarket brands, but can't differentiate between the supermarket brands. My husband can tell the difference (in a blind tasting) between supermarket brands. However, he did a winemaking diploma many years ago and part of that was palate training and sensory appreciation.

However, if you can't tell the difference that's excellent - you might as well save your money! Sources: Me .

Soft drinks I think if your not a big soda fan you can not tell the difference. But if your a regular soda drinker you can very much tell the difference coke and pepsi taste way way different then each other and Dr peper taste different as well. As for the store brand they just have a slightly different taste but I can tell the difference. As for it being a secret people can see whats in the drinks and go from there mix and match some of the in Ingredients and try and see if they can match them.

I am a coke connaisseur - I can tell the difference, that's for sure But it's not that hard to hirte a bunch of tasters and keep altering your formula until they think it tastes like code or pepsi. Sources: my answer .

Chek diet vanilla cola Being an avid diet Cokeaholic, it would be really hard to try to fool me with another brand. At our southern supermarket chain, Winn-Dixie, the carry their own brand of soda, Chek. The best price I can ever get on Coke or Pepsi products is 4/$10.00...the Chek is 5/$9.00.

Now, my husband insiste that the Chek cola doesn't taste the same as Pepsi, but my adult daughter says it's identical. Once Coke and Pepsi stopped making their vanilla diet...I gave Chek a try. It is so good.

Sometimes I wonder if the Coke/Pepsi Corps package their produts under different brand names for the supermarket chains. At Wal-Mart, their Great Value brand products are identical in taste to the brand name products right next to them on the shelf. Sources: Official taste tester .

I think the taste is almost same in many cases. Secret recipe sory is only a brand naming and promotion technique.

Now, Coke and Pepsi -they ARE distinctive. " "Will you be fired if you drink Pepsi at a Coke factory?" "Have you ever tried a soft drink called Materva? Is it better tasting than Coke or Pepsi?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
