They are a motley bunch, coming in all shapes, colours, and from every background. They are a work in progress (from God's point of view, and I should know - I'm one!) They are imperfect and in need of the grace of God on a daily basis to become more like their Lord, Jesus Christ. Sadly, an awful lot of people calling themselves Christians have never come to saving faith in Jesus Christ as their Saviour, thus they cannot have Him as their Lord.
They are trusting in a system, or in ritual, or in having Christian parents, or in having a vague idea that Jesus Christ was a good man - but little else. Those people are not yet Christians but, by the grace of God, one day they may be. When I see Christians showing the love of Christ, my heart is warmed, for they are pointing other people to Christ (not themselves).
When I see Christians struggling in the faith, my heart goes out to them, for this godless world mitigates against Christian faith. When I see Christians dismissing the call of Christ to reach out to other people with the good news about Him, I am reminded of the words of Charles Spurgeon (Baptist of long ago) - "Every Christian is either a missionary or an impostor." But, supremely, I think of Christians as my brothers and sisters, and that we are all part of the symbolic 'body' of Christ, His Church which He builds, and which He so loved, He died for her.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
