Claiming it was stolen would end up with a police report. Additionally, the machine may have hardware/software which would be used to track it. That would end up getting your friend in a whole lot of trouble.
I have another suggestion for you ... talk to your parents. See if they would be willing to get a less expensive mac book, perhaps used, to help him. You would present it as a gift from you rather than from them so as to avoid people getting the idea that there might be more help forthcoming ... Is there any chance that there is an old machine around the house which could be re-purposed?
Or your parents might know of someone who has gotten a new one and has an old one sitting idle ... anyone you know who might be getting one for Christmas leaving an old machine sitting? A 3 year old machine is much better than nothing.
I can see why it'd be a stupid idea, given your family bought you that laptop (and yowcher that price! >. <) and that you shouldn't just "give it away"...but what you've proposed doing, seems really sweet.
Stupid, but sweet. If you go through with it, you'll have to make sure word doesn't get back to your parents that your friend has it (they could see him with it, or his parents could tell your parents) and if you've already told them that it's been stolen, they'll think your friend stole it from you. So you'd have to be careful there.
To make it convincing... just pretend you lost it. You "THOUGHT" you put it back in your bag when you left, but it's not in there and you have no idea where it is. Just don't point any fingers.
I can't offer much help...but I suggest the clueless act, you've had no idea what's just happened. Act confused! You took it with you, and now it's not there any more.
Oh, oh, oh, take your bag in with you. But take the laptop out first. Someone coulda swiped it from your bag that way.
Like TXgirl said, if you leave it in the car, to make it convincing you'd have to smash a window. Which might be a tad difficult. But consider what you're doing first.
I hope I could help. :).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
