I am a Christian Writer who has been defending my right to freedom of religious belief in the?

(Why is it OK for a Hub writer to denegrade and degrade and attack, someone's religion or religious beliefs and faith, and get away with it, but if the other person replies and calls the person a fool this is considered reason to ban them from Forum replies. )In the first instance the validity of a 'thing" is being challenged; in the second instance a personal attack is made. It is the difference between saying "the church you attend is ugly" and saying "you are ugly".

Your problem seems to be that you cannot separate your religion and your religious beliefs from your self-identity, which is a common failing of fundamental Christians, and so when the Christian beliefs are berated you take it as a personal attack and respond with a personal, emotion-laden counter-attack. It is also the reason it is so difficult to abandon religion - it is so interwoven into the ego that to abandon religion is to abandon self. Sad, actually.

It would seem to me that it is a bit much, for simply replying back to someone whose main intent is to be disruptive. The term "fool" does not seem inappropriate. It is only describing a person who lacks judgment or sense, according to the dictionary.

I support you for what it is worth, if the powers to be are reading.

I am a Christian but I try to refrain from name calling when having religious discussions. I think it may be the reason why some turn to aetheism. Being a christian we have a different responsibility than the rest and we must act accordingly in order to win souls.

I am a Christian also. The Bible agrees with you that "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. " Psalm 14:1However... the Bible disagrees with your right to call someone a fool even if they are one.In fact... it was Jesus himself who said, ".... whoever says to his brother, raca (emptyhead), shall be in danger of the council.

But whoever says "you fool! " shall be in danger of hell fire." Jesus in Matthew 5:22 I think this is because we are all fools before we are saved.

Our "being saved" is not our own doing. It is the Holy Spirit's doing. So we have nothing to be proud of by being saved as compared to another person. Maybe the administrator is a good Christian and knows these verses too.

We all make mistakes. I am sure that guy DESERVED to be called a fool. But as a Christian, Jesus mself says don't call someone that.

P.S.I am glad I am not the only Christian out here. Nice to meet you brother.

CMerrit: I fully agree with you on this. Spiritual enlightenment is not what he sought. Playing "Devil's Advocate" and giving answers as only the devil could or would was or seemed to be his pleasure.

S responses wer indeed foolish, so I called him a fool. No malice intended, just a statement of fact.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
