I would strip a small amount of wire and plug it into an ethernet jack, then sense the wires with something like a voltmeter. Use the voltmeter to sense when a signal is being sent by holding down a button and seeing if you get a spike on the meter. If the data is all being sent on one wire (which I suspect it would be) then you could just cut the plug and wire in a usb header instead.

Most likely some of the wires are used to send a signal back to the front desk to let the computer know that you have purchased a game to play while staying. These wire(s) would not be needed for your computer. Otherwise, see if you can download the same software that the hotel uses and use that as a front end on your computer.It would be pretty sweet to have that up to play some roms instead of zsnes or what have you.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
