I know this is not very sane but if I climb a tree by the road and just sit there, would I get into trouble?

Hmmmm, I guess it might depend on whether you were causing a traffic hazard or endangering anyone, and how close you are actually to the road.

You might be okay, it's hard to say. How are the local cops? And the men in the white coats--will they be rushing in to talk you down and take you away!?

If it's not your tree there still could be problems. Only one way to find out, I guess, though!

Djohnjimmy--I see your other questions over there>>>>>You like to test limits, don't you?! .

Haha, Ain't nothing wrong with that. No? :) djohnjimmy 9 days ago .

Don't know the laws in your area, but if you're a distraction to traffic you can be arrested. And if the tree is on private property, you could be trespassing.

Not sure actually, it's between the road and the sidewalk. Djohnjimmy 9 days ago .

Haha, No. No jumping involved/planned. Ok, I jog in a not so busy road everyday and I see this nice tree with a low hanging branch.

I remember from my childhood days, how I used to climb trees and eat mangos sitting on the tree (yes, like a monkey and no I never claimed to be a normal kid. :) ). It just brought some memories and now that I am in a different continent I just wanted to see how the rules here are around that sort of a thing.

BTW, it's not a mango tree here and there are no fruits. I just wanna climb there and sit there and watch traffic go by. Gives me some sort of feeling that I am above/out of the system.

Well, have fun. Don't forget to bring your cell phone in case someone needs to reach you. :) jpg.

It depends on how paranoid the people who go past you are.

You might if its on private property and you are trespassing.

Give you the feeling that you're "out of the system" ... nice. I like finding rebellious places to dwell for the same reason. When I was a young boy, I used to run behind the playground at recess and hang out where no one else could see me.

Now that was freedom. Peaceful and empowering. I'll never forget doing that.

You can really enjoy solitude when you're physically located in a place where you can see everything going on a around you, but you/your location/your perspective is not part of the normal stream of thought of anyone else in your immediate surroundings. Almost like you're invisible but out of the box. So I support you fully, bro.

There is that chance a cop will see you, or a much smaller chance that someone would call police. You're not hanging over the road, and it's not that high. This isn't unreasonable.

On the small, small chance cops come... all they're going to do is ask you to get down, and as long as you're nice with them, they probably wouldn't do anything more. No one will probably say anything or care though once you do it. I'd go for it man :-) .

Open Mind, Today,I finally I met some one as different as me. I think I will do it. :) djohnjimmy 7 days ago .

Glad to hear it man, I think you'll be happy you did ;-) .

Talk to the owner first. Explain what you want to do. Some may agree.

I would.

Sorry Askville wouldn't allow my original screenshot so I scaled it down. Here you go. This is the famous tree between the sidewalk and the road.

Who owns this? Djohnjimmy 9 days ago jpg.

In Frederick the town owns it. But I expected a tree worth climbing. This is thin for me.

It is Maryland. And I agree, this is not a typical tree you wanna climb but I think I have been running around this tree enough times that it started to grow on me. :) djohnjimmy 9 days ago .

Looking for a clothes tree for drying them outdoors.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
