3 weeks is not unusual for sinusitis, but call the doctor Sinus infections, or sinusitis, are generally classified 4 ways: Acute cases, which last for 4 weeks or less Subacute cases, which last 4 to 12 weeks Chronic cases, which last more than 12 weeks and can continue for months or even years Recurrent cases, which involve several acute attacks within a year So, 3 weeks, while unfortunate, is not unusual. You don't indicate what medications are being used, but if the infection is viral or fungal, antibiotics won't be able to help, since they only work on bacterial infections. Sinus lavage can be very helpful if it isn't already being used.

Since she has been having symptoms for more than 10 days and has a severe headache, however, she should consult her physician. Additional therapy or testing may be needed, depending on her situation. Also, she needs to see her doctor to rule out more serious, and potentially fatal, issues, such as meningitis.

Bottom line: Please consult her physician or an Ear-Nose-Throat specialist to be sure the appropriate action is being taken and that complications have not arisen. You Should Definitely See a Specialist I'd see another doctor, maybe a specialist. It could be a number of things. I can at least tell you about the drugs.

Ampicillin isn't too incredibly powerful (like Amoxicillin, it's a derivative of Penicillin and is therefore weaker), so I'd try to get her on something more powerful. This isn't your doctor's or the pharmacy's fault, everyone is usually put on the weaker antibiotics first so that they don't build up immunities to the stronger things in early life. Something like Cephalexin or Ciprofloxicin would stand a better chance, but I'm not brave enough to really diagnose anything, especially online.

The intense headaches could be a result of something else, but if they've been getting worse and worse I wouldn't be surprised if she got put on some sort of mild pain killer. Three straight weeks of pain is incredible for a ten year old. Get her to a specialist as soon as you can.

I hope she feels better! Sources: My work as a CPhT.

Raw onion chew, garlic in food, tea, goldenseal and echinacea, fish oil, Vit C, gargle salt water, can irrigate nose... with salt water if she is old enough, oil of oregano. Best wishes.

1 If my child had symptoms like that for three weeks I'd be seeking further advice from a specialist.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
