You have to kill the source...bacteria If your towels are white...1/2 cup of Clorox bleach in the wash load will kill the bacteria and remove the musty smell. I like to fill the washer with cold water, add the bleach and Tide...add the towels and agitate for a minute...then let them soak overnight...I do this with all my whites. For colored towels, you may try adding a 1/2 to a full cup of white vinegar to the wash to sweeten them up.

If you have the place to hang them to dry in the sun, this will also help remove the musty odors. If you're finding that you're getting the musty odor in all of your laundry...you may want to fill the washing machine with hot water, on it's lowest water setting, add 1/2 cup of bleach and run the wash cycle with no laundry in it. Check to see if there is a lint filter...old , damp lint can get moldy in between washings.

White vinegar Put a quarter cup in the rinse or 'fabric softener' dispenser in your washing machine. It does a great job of removing all detergent residue and what is stuck on that residue is probably what you are smelling. You might also decrease the load size of your wash, if you are trying to stuff it too full.

We have learned to use Tide detergent, too. I won't even try anything else now. It does a better job for us than anything else I have found..

I always use bleach for our towels. And hot water. It kills germs and any mold/mildew. Then I throw them in the dryer with a fabric softener sheet.

If you have colored towels, use color safe bleach. Sources: me autumn00™:0)'s Recommendations Bleach, Liquid, Chlorine Free, Free & Clear, 21 Loads, 64 oz. Oxo-Brite Non-Chlorine Bleach, 3.6 lb.

We've had this problem before! After camping we had this problem and I found a Febreeze product that was specifically for this. It was an additive to pull the smell out.

Fabric softeners never seemed to get the smell completely out. I know there are other ways, I am sure someone knows a vinegar treatment, but I had to find something that worked fast! Sources: personal experience .

Towels Wash them again with a solution of baking soda disolved in a cup of vinagar. Put in another cup of vinagar and that should do the trick. I also place two dryer sheets in the dryer with they towels when they dry.

That should take care of the problem. Have a great day.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
