Should utility companies be allowed to continually increase prices for their services?

As a consumer it would be easy for me to say that electric companies , or utility companies should not increase prices, but I really do not know if they should rightfully do it I or not because weather conditions seem to be very unstable these days, or at least the weather seems to be. I know for a fact that hurricanes, tornadoes, and terrible storms can easily destroy light poles, and to repair thousands of destroyed electric lines is and expensive endeavor. I have mixed feeling about the issue.

Not only do electricians constantly have to repair damaged lines, They constantly risk their lives in terrrible weather conditions. It also costs money to create electric, and gasoline seems to constantly increase in prices. Everything seems to go up when gasoline and oil go up in prices.

With these things in mind I try to be patient to understand the ramifications of and increase in oil prices which also seems to affect everything. My guess is that the gulf oil spill will cost everyone a lot of money perhaps in many countries. At least we should be thankful we can get electric, and still buy gasoline. It is hard to understand economics in some cases.

God Bless You.

The problem in Britain stems from when the cow Thatcher sold off our property, the utility companies, to foreign investors who are now making big fat profits off of us whilst maintaining very poor service to the customer.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
