We euthanize pets why not people? (That sounds appalling. See additional details.)?

I agree with you. Being a nurse I have, unfortunately witnessed some unnecessary suffering of people who are dying and also people who have died without any dignity or respect being given to them. I don't want to offend anyone, but I think one of the reasons that euthanasia for people is not fully practiced is lack of guts.

There is so many lily-livered politicians etc. Etc. Who whitter on about law, ethics, is it right, is it wrong, who should do it, who shouldn't and on and on it goes.At the end of the day we are all going to die and it's about time that the transition from life to death is as pain free, quick and dignified as possible. As for me, I want to go the same way as my lovely dogs go, 10 seconds and you go to sleep, it's over, - maybe I'll have a talk with my vet?

We are given charge for animals and it is our responsibility to do the right thing. Life or death of a human being is in God's hands and not our decision to make--oh I can see the little red down arrows now because I dared to mention God--LOL.

Well, if they're a healthy 16 year old and begging, put em in a hospital with rubber walls until they get proper help. If they're a serial killer and begging, the electric chair sounds pretty good. If they're old and terminally ill, yes - of course, they deserve to go with dignity.

Oblige them. Pretty common sense answers but that's just my opinion.

People quote, "Thou shalt not kill," yet rarely are those very same people vegetarians. Often they are also hunters and/or proponents of the death penalty. Occasionally they are exactly the same people who praise god when someone horrific (but still human) is killed (think: bin Laden, Saddam Hussein).

We ask our military forces to kill on command, and even hire snipers to do it anonymously. The government of the US has been involved in the murder of ruthless (but again, still human) world leaders. Most of us would kill someone who is threatening our life directly or the life of a loved ones, wouldn't we?

So, truthfully, christians, aren't those actions and beliefs contrary to the words of the bible? I, personally, find it appalling that one cannot choose to end your own life peaceably and with assistance. The actions of the US military still promotes death and training for others to kill, while continuing to force the US into deeper and deeper debt as the development of weapons of mass murder is funded.

The US is still apologizing for more than 52K needless US deaths in Vietnam, deregulating the crap that goes into our food daily (especially ruining the health of our children), and the list of atrocities goes on and on, with only the almighty dollar the final say of what's right and what's wrong. I think this: If there was a way to tax the person bringing their own life to an end, perhaps the government would allow it, even encourage it. Perhaps if Monsano could get on the bandwagon...Meanwhile, let's kill the fish of our polluted seas, let's poison our plants so that no insect would dare eat to live, let our young people fight high rates of testicular cancer and breasts on 8-year old girls from hormones in our food.

Let's be sure to enjoy the genetically altered crap that is passed on to the public without their knowledge. But heaven help us if I have, say, Huntington's disease and wish to end my life before my loved ones watch me die a horrific death -- oh, no! "Thou shalt not kill" What a joke on a gullible mankind...

It would take a very thick book for me to explain my views on this issue, but I will take a shot at explaining it in a few short sentences. In my opinion, no one should ever have the power or the authority to "put down" other human beings, including those who are homicidal criminals, suffering excruciating pain, facing certain death, and have not been born yet. I also believe that each and every of one of us is supposed to "fight to remain alive", no matter what.

That will be in the hand of God. We each have a number,and by that number we each inter and leave this world. When it is your time rich or poor....you don't have to go home,,,but you have to Leave Here.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
