I have never understood it. To me it is just another day. I don't even celebrate my own birthday.

Maybe its because they're just glad to have survived another year. Or, it gives them a chance to make a total and complete fool out of themselves by getting drunk and they can blow it off by saying "well, everyone else was doing it too. " At least I'm going to bed clear-headed in a few minutes - as soon as midnight hits.

Well, it marks the end of the old year and the introduction of the new. It gives you a chance to start over and maybe do it differently. Every milestone seems to be marked by celebration or every day would be the same.
Well, it's a fun excuse to get together with friends and family to eat and drink and make merry! .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
