Here is one of my families favorites. Cube Steaks with Gravy 4 cube steaks 3 c. Water, divided 1 pkg dry gravy mix 2 med (or 1 large) onion, sliced vegetable oil flour (about 1 cup) salt and pepper to taste In a large ziplock bag put flour, salt, and pepper.

Add steaks to coat. Brown in small amount of oil on each side. Place steaks in a crockpot, pour 2 cups of water over them and add the sliced onion.

Cook on low for 8 hours. Mix gravy mix and remaining cup of water and pour into crockpot during the last 1/2 hour. We prefer this with mashed potatoes.

If you wanted to make this a really simple all in one meal, you could chunk some potatoes and add them to the crockpot (under the meat) and continue with the recipe as stated. You mentioned you didn't like vegetables but if you like mushrooms, I usually add a can to the top with the onions. You can also season the meat as desired with garlic powder or other spices your family may like. It's very simple "comfort food" and it's always a hit with anyone I serve it too.

The meat is very tender prepared this way. Recipies?!?! We don't need no stinkin' recipies.... As for veggies, it's pretty darned hard to make anything other than boiled meat in a crock pot without the addition of some veggies. Here is one of my favorites: One small to medium sized beef roast (shoulder, rump, it really doesn't matter) Add a few new potatoes cut into fairly large chunks (the Yukon gold are *excellent* if you have them, but plain old russets work fine), some onion (I prefer to get smaller ones and leave them whole, but don't forget to peel them...), and carrots.

Season with a generous dose of salt, pepper, and garlic. Add a bay leaf if you have one handy. Fill with water.

Put the pot on low, and walk away for the day. Serve with some nice crusty sourdough bread. YUM!.

Easy and Yummy! * I tried this recipe last week, and the only thing I did differently was roast my own garlic because I couldn’t find the soup the recipe requires. And then there is always something so good about chicken and bacon.

This was a wonderful, comfort food type dish and I recommend it highly! Tastes great the next day too! Enjoy!

Enjoy! Enjoy! Sour Cream Bacon Chicken * Ingredients: 4-6 bacon slices 4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 2 (10 oz) cans roasted garlic cream of mushroom soup 1 cup sour cream 1/2 cup flour Preparation: Wrap one slice of bacon around each boneless chicken breast and place in a 3-4 quart crockpot. In medium bowl, combine condensed soups, sour cream, and flour and mix with wire whisk to blend.

Pour over chicken. Cover crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours until chicken and bacon are thoroughly cooked. :D Sources: http://busycooks.about.com/od/chickenrecipe1; http://www.cyberlyber.com/ .

Simple is good! Meat + broth + potatoes + seasoning + at least 5 hours = wonderous tastiness .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
