Does anyone know a really good buttercream icing recipe that's low in sugar?

DORA'S SATIN SMOOTH BUTTERCREAM ICING 1 lb. Powdered sugar 3/4 c. Shortening 1 egg white 1 tsp.

Vanilla 1/4 tsp. Salt 2 tbsp. Plus 1/2 tsp.

Hot water 1 drop each of pineapple, rum, and butter flavoring 2 tbsp. White corn syrup Combine the first 8 ingredients in a bowl and blend at low speed until well mixed. Turn mixer to medium speed and blend.

Reduce speed to low and slowly pour in corn syrup that has been heated to boiling point. Continue beating at low speed for 5 minutes. Use 1 recipe to frost a layer of sheet cake and an additional recipe to decorate.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
