I worked in prison as a teacher for a year. What it changed in perception was the realization that it isn't nearly enough of a punishment. They're all told what to do and when to do it, but almost none lose their F-you attitude because they don't actually suffer.

And the being told what to do happens only enough to strengthen that attitude, not actually retrain them. The huge majority of their time is spent rehearsing the exact sorts of relationships and dialogues they had on the streets that got them in the prison to begin with.

3 I think they need to teach them how to be in society/love/handle anger and other problems/ teach them a job for self esteen or they go back to jail due to having no money for food when they are let out/ teach them about God that can forgive them. They need hope/love and a future...not be treated like crap. They over punish....too long...turn them into criminals.

If they are doing drugs etc get them help...Many are Attention deficient...a diet change could help...

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
