Yes, when I was very young. I was tall for my age and the bullies loved picking on someone bigger than they were (and two years younger). At 12 I joined a Judo school to learn to defend myself.
After two years we moved and I joined a Jujutsu school since there was no Judo close to me. With the skills I learned, my confidence grew and I was no longer picked on. I have stayed with the martial arts and now have been practicing for 47 years.
If it were up to me, Judo would be taught in every elementary school. Age 8 to 10 depending on the child's temperament. extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?t... dumbcrooks.com/2002/08/ .
Yes A while back I told the story of being bullied in high school. Here it is again just for the sake of telling. I had one serious bully in high school.
I was (and still am) 4'11" tall. I weighed (and wish I had this problem now) all of 95 pounds. To top it off I have a degenerative knee condition which meant I was on crutches most of the time.
She was a walking trailer park stereotype, loud, coarse and in need of a target. I was it. After several run ins I developed a habit of responding to whatever she said by telling her that her opinion didn't mean anything to me so if she was waiting for me to care about her insults she needed to find a new hobby.
This infuriated her. She cornered me out back of the school in the smoking area (a long time ago folks when smoking areas existed in schools). Behind me was one of the massive cafeteria dumpsters. In front of me stood the bully and three of her friends.
My legs were weak but spending time on crutches had strengthened my upper body considerably. I had a strong back and abs so when she rushed me I did the only thing I could. Mind you I was not on my crutches that day so when she rushed me I locked my legs and leaned slightly forward.
At my height that put my shoulder right at her waist. I let momentum do the rest. I grabbed her torso, staggered back against the dumpster and helped her over my shoulder right into pile of cafeteria refuse.
I wish I could say I ran like the wind before she got out but it was more like an ambitious hobble. In any case I did make it back to the building before she was clear of the dumpster. She didn't come to school the next day but the day after she showed up.
She started toward me once and someone I didn't even know asked her how dumpster diving felt. She never spoke to me again. There were other bullies in my teenage years but most of them came and went fast enough that it didn't make much of an impression.
The dumpster queen will always be remembered.
Yeah... Back in pre-middle school I remember I use to get bullied I forgot who and what they wanted from me cause its been many many years I did eventually stand up to him and just told him to leave me alone or somthing like that I was expecting a bad beat down but I vaguely remember he didn't and he left me alone after that...i doubt it's that easy for others thou lol. Yes I have ....as a child and as an adult When I was in the 3rd grade, there was this girl in my class that was right much older than the rest of us...I will never forget her. I have two cousins and we used to walk to school together every day and we were in the same class with her. One afternoon as we were leaving school, she hit another girl and I told her that I thought that was wrong.
Well she walked with us to the corner, knocked my books out of my hand and pulled me across the street by my hair. My cousins both ran home and got my mom who came and rescued me. Of course I was crying my eyeballs out!
She got sent home and she never bothered me again. I would have done the same thing over though, cause what she did to the other little girl was wrong. As an adult, I married an abuser and he bulled me all of the time and even though he was not a tall or big person, I was really afraid of him.
That is what bullies do ya know, hey make you afraid of them when really they are not so tough, they are sometimes just as afraid of things as the next guy but have to make you think that they are these tough persons. My first husband was just plain mean...so nothing bothered him. Once, I was 12 and a Tom Boy girl type put a frog down my all in one pajamas. She got me good! It was a night I shall never forget.
All of my friends got to together at my friend’s house for a slumber party. We were having a blast and the incident happened in the early morning hours. I had on a new frilly, cute, t all in one nightie. It has red trimming at the edge of the ruffles on the front.
My Mom had just bought it for me. There was this girl there, a tomboy type, who probably felt that I was way too frilly and she came up with a great idea. She evidently discussed it with the other girls how funny it would be if she put a huge frog down the back of my all in one nightie.
Please understand that I don’t like frogs, in fact it was more of a phobia frog thing, and the bare thought of a frog being trapped in my nightie would make me cringe to no end! She did it and the results were exactly what all had expected. I immediately jumped up and down screaming and crying at the same time to get the frog out!
She apparently had some type of kindness in her and she did retrieve the frog but I gave her a dirty look like no other. Needless to say she was a true bully, who got her kicks from seeing others cringe or cry. I never looked at her in the same way after that day.
Come to think of it, I never looked at frogs in the same way either! I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
