Help! My six month old beagle/mix has suddenly started pooping in his crate. He doesn't even mind laying it in.
Advice? He only does this overnight, even though he has been holding it overnight for over 4 months. We don't feed him before bed.
He has just enough room in his crate to sleep, and he does it anyway. He is currently eating Iams Puppy Food twice per day. I am at my wits end.
Why would he start doing this now? Asked by nikpete 39 months ago Similar questions: Help month beagle mix suddenly started pooping crate mind laying Advice Pets > Dogs.

Dogs are routine animals you have to catch them doing it and give them a bad experience while doing it (a loud noise usualy works, a firm bad dog, a newspaper sound or water being sprayed ) do it a couple of times and reward him if he does not and he would eventualy learn to go where needed. Routinely take him out for walks and change his crate because dogs can smell their poop even when cleaned and would usually poop where they started pooping Sources: Currently has 6 dogs and 6 puppies and took care of at least 45 dogs in a lifetime .
1 Sounds like you've trained him to do this, if unintentionally. He may consider the attention/interest you show in his "accidents" to be good. You're fortunate that he is still young. It will take some work on your part, but you can train him not to squat in his kennel at night.
First, time his feeding so that he can be encouraged to go before "bedtime. " Make a big deal out of it when he does go (correctly); a leashed walk after feeding until he goes is a good prompt for him. Reward him with a small treat and lots of praise.
If he comes to see this "potty-time" as a better thing than the negative attention, he will come to look forward to these outings. And don't make a big fuss about it if he does make a mistake.Be as neutral about it as possible (did I mention there would be work for you? ).
Puppies, like human children, want attention and praise. Give enough of both, at the appropriate times, and he'll learn to be a "good Boy! " Good luck.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
