Both him and his sister are being crate trained. Easier said then done. If I take him out of his crate he pees and poops all over the floors.

I take him outside numerous time in the AM during the day he has a dog walker and in the PM he has frequent bathroom visits outside where he does go the bathroom also. So I do not agree with you simple solution. S sister has no problem with her crate training.

Crate training can be tricky. It is supposed to be their den and dogs do not generally soil their den. He might be doing it partly to 'declare his territory' because you say he has a sister.

He wants to be top dog. Some pups sadly have biological/anatomical issues that might cause him to have a lack of control. But he is going to the bathroom outside when he is supposed to, so it sounds more behavioral than timing or control issues.

He can also just be a late learner. It might also depend on what you have in the crate. Pee pads are great but they encourage peeing etc due to a special scent.In which case, you can try the opposite.

There are some products that will discourage peeing in an area when you spray it on. Try it on a small area first before dousing his crate in case it acts like a total repellent! Good luck and try to hang in there.

It is frustrating but he is also very young with a small bladder and so on and not always sure what he is supposed to do. And by the time he gets the signal, as it were, it is already too late. Girls are easier to train than boys too, IMHO.

Perhaps he will watch her and learn, especially if you reward her rather than punish him. Pups do love to please their owner so that might work too.

Thank you so much for the great feedback. I agree with you and I am hoping it is because he is a slower learner than his sister. He so much wants to please both myself and my husband.

I have been paying more attention to his habits and so far in 1 day we have had no accidents. I take him out frequently. I have never scolded either one for bad behavior, I try more positive methods although my husband prefers to take the alpha male role and use disipline tactics that I do not agree with.

I beleive trying to communicate and understand what my pups are trying to tell me rather than disipline them everytime they make a mistake. Thanks you so much for your help. Hope you have a wonderful holiday.

If so I will tell you what my vet told me, I had the same problem...Make the crate smaller where he has just enough room to stand and barely turn around. When he stops then you can enlarge it again. He might not do it if he has no choice but to sit on it..Good Luck to you!

Make the crate smaller, dogs are den animals by nature. Making the crate smaller will decrease the room that the puppy has to defaecate in a clean area. If they don't have enough room to poo and lay they typically won't.

Have you tried praising your puppy when he is outside? I have crate trained all of my dogs and had similar problems, decreasing the size helps tremendously, also google training videos they are full of valuable info.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
