How can I secure my internet connection trough Linksys wireless router WRT54G?

I have used many WiFi routers and they use security in the same way. I will list the steps below. Login to your router.1) Most routers us a web interface now.

Most routers use the 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 the booklet that came with your router will tell you. You can just try it if you want you will not hert anything. Type the number into a web browser to access the interface to login 2)The username will be either blank or "admin" and the default password is "admin".

You can also download the user manual on Linksys website and the info will be in there. Do this if the username and password I gave you do not work.3) Change you SSID. This is the name of your WiFi network.

The Default name is Linksys. This is not needed, but If you use the default your network will be the 1st to be attacked. 4)Use WPA2 and ACS for encryption.

This the strongest there is at this time. You will not be able to use older WiFi cards or the Nintendo DS with this setup thought. 5) enter a WPA key and wright it down.

This key or password will be what you put into the computers that you want to join your network. At this point you are secure for the most part. Extra 1) you should change the username and password for your router.

This will stop people from locking you out of your own network.2)turn off SSID broadcasting. Do this so people will not see your network. Make sure you do this after you change the settings on your computer to connect even if not SSID is not broadcasting.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
