Assault rifles have been banned since 1934. These are not assault rifles. These are military style semi autos.
Listen, rifles are not the problem at all. The problem is the breakdown of the American family, compounded with a collapse of reality in our society. I personally believe if you research the two shooters in the most recent mass killings that started this mess, you will find they had mental issues and I would wonder what side effects of their meds were.
I have been around guns and these types weapons all my life. I have had no incidents at all. I work with 7 guys who all own AR's and they are not killers.
They target shoot, reload, and coyote hunt with those type weapons. I do not own one. The 2nd is not about hunting as the NY gov.
Stated, but it is about citizens who are able to protect themselves from a tyrannical govt. Read the founding fathers quotes, not once did they refer to hunting. We are seeing a federal govt.
That increases it reach into our lives and on states rights. The worst attitude is to think that it can't happen here. Germany thought the same thing.
By definition, an assault rifle has full-auto capability, so they are regulated already. From what I read, they are now trying to ban weapons that LOOK LIKE an assault rifle, so what may become of that will only be known after the courts gets thru with the first legal challenge of defining 'LOOKS LIKE' ......
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
