They will definitely face a judicial committee for such action. If the elders on the committee read their heart as being repentant (imagine that, a religious tribunal professing to read the hearts of sinners, when only God and Jesus can read hearts) they will be publicly reproved. If the elders on the committee judge them as unrepentant for the gross sin of putting up lights, they will be disfellowshipped - expelled from the religion and shunned by all the members including their own family!
This is a very judgmental and hypocritical religion which dishes out serious punishments to members for the minor offense of partaking in a harmless tradition having obscure pagan origins; meanwhile the religious organization itself continues to be regarded by the membership as holy and righteous despite its history of false teachings, including dabbling in pyramidology, in addition to more modern-day abuses and cover-ups related to acts of pedophilia. Jesus said something about straining out the gnat while gulping down the camel, which is a very apt illustration of the hypocritical way JWs seek to purge the minor sins of members while always excusing and defending the more serious sins of their organization.
A true follower is no part of this world. That means they are different--they do not fit in. Nor do they want to fit in.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
