Auto reverse is too sensitive or the door is unbalanced The auto reverse works by sensing the current being drawn by the opener’s motor. When there is an obstruction, the current draw changes, and this trips the reverse. This can be caused by misalignment of the tracks, unbalanced springs, stuck rollers, or just an over-sensitive mechanism.

Here is an article from HGTV that explains these problems in detail: www1.hgtv.com/hgtv/rm_home_ext_garages/a... The first thing I would try is, pull the chain that disconnects the door from the opener so you can operate it manually. Does it move freely in the tracks? Are the springs balanced?

If everything checks out there, the sensor could be at fault. It may not be disengaging when the door is fully closed, or it may be too sensitive. If the door checks out, get the opener serviced.

Adjust your down stop/down travel, if thats ok increase your down force I’m assuming it closes and then reverses. Check to see that your down stop/down travel adjustments are ok you should be able to adjust your door so it stops just above the floorthen increase the down travel so the seal just contacts the floor with enough pressure to keep out rain/snow. It should contact the floor evenly from one side to the other, if not you need to adjust the springs, and/or cables.(call a professional for this).

If the travel adjustment is right and it still reverses, then increase your downforce adjustment slightly. Your should be able to stop it with your hands and make it reverse with about 5-20 puonds of stopping force. Another thing you might check is if there is something breaking the beam sensors accross the bottem of the door (if you have those).

The trouble with IR beams It sounds like you have IR beams that are not aligned. They are usually located on the door tracks, just off the ground. A beam of light is sent across the door opening.

Should something break the light beam while the door is trying to close the door opens. The idea is to stop you from closing the door on a pet, your car, a child, etc. Misalignment is a common source of this problem. I did have an occasion when one of the wires connecting the beam was cut.

This has the same result. I have always realigned by trial and error. However, a common pen or laser level may be helpful.

The vendor of your door opener should have a web site with more information.

Sensors are probably bad Our garage door did this in the spring and I was mystified as well. After trying many things to no avail, I called the garage door repair people and they said the motion sensors do that when they go bad. We had the sensors replaced, and problem was resolved..

Electronic Eyes When our garage door did this, it turned out that the electronic "eyes" weren't quite lined up. On ours, this indicator is the little green light near the bottom on both sides of the door. Our weren't on, so we knew that something was amiss.

Another problem could be that one side or the other isn't lined up quite right, so it isn't rolling evenly. I hope you get this problem fixed quickly. Good luck..

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
