Should I take an old car on a road trip?

No problems. Go, enjoy. You've easily got another 100k out of it.

You're just being paranoid. Most cars and trucks will easily make a coast to coast trip even with 200,000 miles if maintained well. I had a '96 Explorer with 197,000 with almost all the original parts on it, and I wouldn't have hesitated to set off from LA to NYC(albeit the fuel bill would've been ridiculous).

Cars and trucks are pretty tough these days...only things you'd have to worry about would be if certain scheduled maintenance or services were severely neglected or never done. And even then, your chances of something major actually failing would be low without well over 100,000...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
