I'm torn between an old mixing bowl of my grandmothers or small paring knives, but I have to go with the mixing bowl.
Love your answer. It's so great to have something that belonged to someone special, isn't it? I don't have much that belonged to my relatives who have passed on and I cherish what little I have.
I think every chef would agree about the importance and necessity of possessing good quality knives. I could give up quite a few tools within my grasp, but would be hard pressed to do without at least, 1 good full tang, medium weight chef's knife. I have a collection of a dozen or more, several were my wife's grandfathers, who was a butcher and they are well over 50 years old.
I wouldn't trade my knives for all the useless, timesaving gadgets & gizmos in the whole United Kingdom.
The Pizza wheel - with 3 kids it is the most valuable tool for quickly cuting food into small bite sized pieces all perfectly shaped and even.
Oooh, good idea! I never would have thought of that; I'll have to remember that for when my grandson is a little older.
For years, Ace Hardware would have their dollar days sales and I would go and buy 10 of these wonderful wooden handled paring knives. They are terrific! I use them for everything, including things that you woulld never normally use them for.
Alas, Ace no longer does this great deed for me, so I have to be more sparing in my usage. Now, beyond that, I have a very old ceramic caserole pot with a lid that I use all the time. I have used it to make baked beans, to roast chicken and to make bread pudding.
I don't know what I would do without it! Great question, Grandma!
I love finding vintage cookware and casserole dishes. I have some older Pyrex casserole dishes that I just love; they are so much fun to use!
The knife was my first thought, but being that someone said that, I'd say my kitchen scissors. I love them! My husband thought I was insane when he first learned that I cut food with them (like pizza) but he does it now too.
;) So easy!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
