What sleep problems are associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)?

Stage 4 sleep is the phase of sleep called deep sleep. It is also called non-rapid eye movement (nREM) sleep. Most patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other functional syndromes, such as fibromyalgia, have abnormalities of Stage 4 sleep that contribute to awakening in the morning feeling tired and unrefreshed.

Another phase of sleep is called rapid eye movement sleep (REM), which is associated with dreaming, arousal, altered activity of the autonomic nervous system and altered colon function. Increased REM sleep occurs in some patients with IBS and other functional syndromes.

A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
