Why are there different stories regarding the birth of Jesus in the Gospels of Matthew & Luke?

Technically, in the book of: Isaiah 7V14:"Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and he shall call his name Immanuel." Isaiah 9 V6:"For unto us a CHILD is BORN, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." The Gift-Child in this passage is the same divine Child as Immanuel.. As for the Gospel writers.

OOPS wrote the gospel in after read your instructions--decided to leave it in--apologies. I would say the Holy Spirit announces to Mary that she would give birth to the Christ child--should be touted as the first official mention of this--- Matthew 1V23:"BEHOLD, a VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD, AND SHALL BRING FORTH A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL, which being interpreted is. God with us."

V25:"And knew her not till she had brought forth her first-born son: and he called his name JESUS. Matt 2V1:"NOW when Jesus was born in Bethelehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem V2:"Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."

Then in Luke's Gospel. Luke 2V10:"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. V11:"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
